We compete on service and professionalism, not price. You get $1.95 per pound, a flat $5 delivery fee, 24-hour return, and a total you can compute before you book.

How much laundry is 25 pounds?

≈ 2 loads

About two large loads: a week of clothes for two people, or one person’s laundry plus towels and sheets. A full kitchen-size trash bag of laundry weighs roughly 12 to 15 pounds.

At $1.95 per pound, a 25 lb order is $48.75 plus the $5 delivery: $53.75 total.

Charged after weighing, not at booking

Your card is charged when your laundry is weighed at our facility, before washing. You pay for the exact pounds you sent, and the math is checkable: pounds times $1.95, plus the $5 delivery.

Send out less than 25 pounds and the order is billed at the minimum: 25 lb × $1.95, so $48.75 plus the $5 delivery. To get full value from a pickup, wait until the hamper reaches about two large loads, or round out the bag with towels and bedding.

$20 off your first order

Applied right on the /schedule/ booking flow. On a 25 lb first order: $33.75 instead of $53.75.

Frequently asked questions

How much does laundry service cost in Chicago?
Drop & Dash charges $1.95 per pound for laundry pickup and delivery in Chicago, with a 25 lb minimum and a flat $5 delivery fee, so a 25 lb order totals $53.75. Drop-off at any of 20 Wash Smart locations is $1.45 per pound with a 15 lb minimum. For context, Chicago wash and fold typically runs $1.25 to $2.50 per pound, and most pickup services land around $1.90 to $2.00 per pound before minimums and fees.
The per-pound rate and the flat $5 delivery fee cover every normal order, and the only other fee on the books is a $15 missed-pickup fee. Cancel or change your pickup free up to 4 hours before the scheduled time. If you do get the fee and rebook, the $15 is credited to your next order. Same-day pickups swap the $5 delivery fee for a $20 one, and nothing else stacks on top. That is the complete list.
At $1.95 per pound, a 25 lb order is $48.75 plus the $5 delivery: $53.75 total. For scale, one load of laundry is 10 to 15 pounds, and most households send 25 pounds or more at a time. So when a service quotes per load or per bag, work out what a pound actually costs before comparing.
Comforters and pillows are priced per item: $19.95 for a twin comforter, $24.95 for queen or king, and $12.95 per pillow, added on top of your per-pound order and not counted toward the 25 lb minimum. Sheets and towels are regular per-pound laundry, and machine-washable rugs are priced per pound too. Full details are on the comforter cleaning page.
No, tips are never required. If you want to leave one, tips are welcome, and every tip is split between the driver who runs your pickup and the laundry attendants who wash and fold your order.
It depends on what your time is worth: $53.75 covers a 25 lb order, about two large loads, picked up, washed, folded, and delivered back in 24 hours. If those loads normally take you three hours of sorting, machines, and folding, you are paying under $18 an hour to make the chore disappear. If you have machines at home and do not mind the time, keep the money. If laundry keeps eating your evenings, this is what it costs to take it off your list.
Ten pounds of laundry works out to $19.50 at Drop & Dash’s $1.95 per pound pickup rate and $14.50 at the $1.45 drop-off rate, but it sits under both minimums: 25 lb for pickup and 15 lb for drop-off. For small loads, drop-off at a Wash Smart location is the practical route, since the 15 lb minimum is only about one large load. Rates and all 20 locations are on the drop-off laundry page.
